Key takeaways

Concrete blocks, screw anchors, elastic moorings and bank-mounted lines — matching the anchoring system to your bed type, depth and water level behaviour.

Why anchoring decides park safety

An under-anchored park drifts, overstresses seams at connection points, and eventually fails. An over-rigid park fights waves until fittings fatigue. Good anchoring is elastic enough to absorb chop and strong enough to hold storm loads — engineered per site, not guessed.

System 1: Bed blocks (lakes, reservoirs)

The standard for stable-level lakes: 40–60 kg concrete blocks on the bed, each with a numbered line to a marked anchor lug. Block count follows the module’s mooring plan (a 6.5 m tower needs 8 × 50 kg). Blocks are placed by barge or diver; with 1.2–4 m depth this is a one-day job for a local contractor.

System 2: Screw anchors (sand, firm beds)

Screw anchors install faster where the bed allows and cause no concrete in the water. They suit sandy bays and compacted lake beds; rock beds and soft silt need blocks or bank systems instead.

System 3: Bank-mounted lines (rivers, level changes)

Rivers and irrigation reservoirs change level seasonally. Bank-mounted deadman anchors or shore bollards hold the grid; the park floats up and down on the lines. This is the system behind our Australia river campsite case.

Elastic moorings and wave absorption

Every connection uses an elastic section (rubber core or spring) that absorbs wave energy. Rigid chains transfer every wave into the structure and fatigue fittings in one season — the most common anchoring mistake we see in competitor parks.

The numbered grid: how we hand over

Every LakeMio park ships with a numbered mooring plan: each anchor position, its load, its line and the assembly sequence. Your local contractor places the hardware; our engineer verifies by video call. You are never guessing where a 50 kg block goes.
